Worth: 20% of your grade
Due: Throughout the semester
Starts: 6th week of the semester
Length: 40-50 min of presentation; 15-35 min of class discussion
Presentation schedule: Groups page
Groups will be created by the professor based on your selection of technology in class. Presentation order will be randomly assigned.
In order to present, the group must pick a focus: a specific topic or issue to focus on. Select a focus relevant to your technology that offers some interesting issues, problems, questions, or controversies. Your focus should be broad enough to accommodate all the perspectives, but narrow enough to make it easy to identify what you need to address.
Two weeks before your presentation, you will:
1) Meet as a group with the professor to discuss the topic and focus
2) Post to the wiki an outline from each person that provides an overview of his or her presentation materials
3) Post to the wiki as a group two or three relevant readings from the bibliography or elsewhere to be assigned to the class
4) Post to the wiki as a group between three and five discussion questions to be handed out to the class
5) Optional: Submit or post PowerPoint slides from each person one week before the presentation for review
The day you present each person will:
1) Submit your research paper on the technology/perspective
2) Sumit your PowerPoint slides used in the presentation (or post on wiki)
3) Fill out private, group work evaluation
A week after you present, the group will collect the homeworks associated with your presentation for grading.
