Accessing CSU Library Collections

Page history last edited by RM Martey 2 years, 7 months ago

To access some readings, you must use the CSU Library electronic collections. You can do this from campus automatically through the links provided.

If you are off campus, to access electronic journals you need to:

1. Make sure that you are connected to the internet using CSU's VPN from home (VPN set up)

2. Go to the CSU library homepage. Click the Journals link to the left under Find.

3. Enter the title of the journal name (NOT the article title) into the top field. Click Find it @ CSU Go at the bottom of the page.

4. A window will pop up. Check the various collections listed to see which one has the year you need. Enter that year (e.g., 2008) into the year field for the appropriate collection. Click Go.

5. Another window will pop up - this one will be the journal publisher page with the list of available journal issues. Select from the list the volume and year of the article you are looking for.

5. Another window might pop up, or maybe not (depends on the journal). Scroll through that issue to find the article you need.

6. Click the link for full text, usually PDF version, or some variation.

7. Save the article to your computer by clicking the save icon (a floppy disk icon) and select your desired location (e.g., Desktop) and type in a more helpful name such as author last name (most automatically provided names are not very descriptive).

8. Close the trillion windows that popped up through the process, and read the article!
